The last thing on your mind when you’re working out should be clothes. For the most functionality and practicality, why not pick out a pair of the best CrossFit’ shorts?

Here is a crossfit shorts review we’ve put together to guide you when choosing the best crossfit shorts.

Anthem Men's 7" Cross-Training Shorts

These are some great WOD short booty shorts. Featuring a crotch gusset, the printed patterns allow easy movements and prevent camel toes. There are no see-through patches and the comfy matte finish is soft to the touch. To keep things more muted, there are no logos anywhere. A 2’’ waistband pairs up with a 3’’ inseam to stay put against the body.

Design and Quality: This one’s made of 85% nylon and 15% spandex. However, material varies with design. Solid colored ones feature stretch nylon while pattern shorts are compression polyester.

What We Like:

  • Good price tag.
  • Thick yet breathable material.
  • Allows greater range of motion.

ODODOS High Waist Shorts

You can pick up the ODODOS High Waist Shorts in two inseam options – 6’’ or 9’’, the latter perfect for the ladies who want some more coverage. These shorts won’t snag or catch on equipment as you work out. And the best part is that, these are the perfect mix of function, fashion, and performance.

Design and Quality: Made of four-way stretch and non-see-through fabric, these shorts are quite durable. The fabric is a blend of 87% polyester and 13% spandex.

What We Like:

  • Two cell phone side pockets.
  • Crotch gusset giving movability.
  • Longer inseam.

Souke Sports Men's Workout Running Shorts

The best part about it is their lifetime; through every wash, you’ll notice that these don’t seem to wear off at all. These boast a generous inseam, standing at 4.5’’. The gusset ensures that these won’t ride up when you’re flexing or stretching your muscles.

Design and Quality: The materials are 87% nylon and 13% spandex. The high waist provides much better tummy control.

What We Like:

  • Interlock seam to reduce chafing.
  • Very durable.
  • Hidden waistband pocket.

QUEENIEKE Women Yoga Shorts

The Queenike athletic shorts offer great value at an even greater price tag. At 4.5’’, the inseam is significantly longer so they give extra coverage. There is a pocket hidden in the waistband where you could put a few small items. The high waist looks and feels good too, holding the shorts in place without any unwanted muffin top.

Design and Quality: The fabric contains a combo of 75% polyester and 25% spandex. For better fitting, the waist has been made seamless.

What We Like:

  • Sweat wicking.
  • Snug fit.
  • Wide, high waist is comfortable.

COOFANDY Men's Gym Workout Shorts

The new version of the coofandy shorts come with the improved Keiryo four-way stretch fabric to give you the most flexibility. These are also moisture wicking, so forget that weird feeling of your shorts sticking to your wet skin. On top of that, the fit is superb so it won’t ride up.

Design and Quality: The fabric is quite breathable and the inseam stands at 3’’ to offer movability.

What We Like:

  • Secures in a place.
  • Not see-through.
  • Light compression.

What to Keep in Mind in a CrossFit Shorts

Your shorts will determine the comfort level of your workout. You might be thinking that these are simply clothes, and they wouldn’t matter, but ask any professional, they highly recommend getting good pairs.

  • Secure: Few shorts use a drawstring, Velcro, an elastic waistband, or a combination of these. Velcro has one major downside – it tends to wear into the skin, leaving marks. Yes, you need something secure, but if it starts hurting after a while, then what’s the point? A drawstring will let you adjust the shorts to your body, while the elastic waistband will auto fit against the body’s curves, sitting down smoothly. If you do pick a Velcro one, make sure your skin isn’t exposed to it to prevent chafing.
  • Length: It needs to be long enough to keep you covered but short enough to not resist movement. There are some CrossFit shorts that are longer than the rest, but have plunging side slits that may expose more thigh than you’re comfortable with.
  • Flexible: You have to be able to move your legs in all directions, much like what you can do with a balloon animal. Four-way stretch fabric provides the best flexibility.
  • Material: Better quality women CrossFit shorts are made from synthetic fabrics like nylon, spandex, or polyester. These dry out sweat effectively, keeping you comfortable and fresh all day. Cotton, on the other hand, is more breathable, but it falls vulnerable to sweat.
  • Durable: When you’re lifting heavy weights, the fabric can be affected due to the constant bending. If the material is cheap, it’ll wear out way too soon. The pressure from the torso while performing deadlifts may pop the fly. With durability, you’ll get what you pay for.

Don’t let your clothes be the sad highlight of your workout regime. Choose any of the CrossFit shorts we mentioned and feel the difference in your everyday exercise routine.
